Quantum Computing Engineer
Position Overview
Join our quantum computing team to develop, test, and optimize quantum algorithms for specific computational problems across optimization, cryptography, and machine learning. You'll work with cutting-edge quantum hardware from IBM, Google, and IonQ while developing novel quantum algorithms that push the boundaries of computational possibility.
This role offers the opportunity to work on real-world quantum applications, from quantum machine learning models to post-quantum cryptography implementations. You'll collaborate with researchers, clients, and hardware teams to translate theoretical quantum concepts into practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum circuits using Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Run experiments on quantum hardware and simulators to validate algorithm performance
- Optimize quantum algorithms for noise resilience and gate efficiency on NISQ-era devices
- Research and implement quantum error correction and mitigation techniques
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical algorithms leveraging variational quantum eigensolvers (VQE) and QAOA
- Benchmark quantum algorithms against classical approaches to demonstrate quantum advantage
- Collaborate with clients to identify quantum computing use cases and develop proofs-of-concept
- Stay current with quantum computing research and integrate new techniques into client solutions
- Contribute to technical publications and present findings at quantum computing conferences

Qualifications
- PhD or Master's degree in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience developing quantum algorithms and working with quantum hardware or simulators
- Strong foundation in quantum mechanics, quantum information theory, and quantum gates
- Experience with at least one major quantum computing framework (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Proven track record of quantum computing research through publications or projects
- Excellent Python programming skills and familiarity with scientific computing libraries (NumPy, SciPy)
- Understanding of NISQ (Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum) device constraints
- Experience with quantum machine learning or quantum optimization algorithms preferred
