Head of Research & Development Partner

Position Overview

As the Head of Research & Development Partner at Anonano, you will define and drive our technical vision across quantum computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and brain-computer interfaces. This equity and board member position places you at the forefront of emerging technology innovation, shaping both our service offerings and internal R&D initiatives.

You will lead the technical roadmap, oversee specialized talent acquisition, and guide our research efforts across four core service areas: Advanced Computing & Cybernetics, Software Development, Data Science & Generative Systems, and Visualization & Prototyping. Your expertise will ensure we remain at the cutting edge of technological advancement.

This role requires a visionary technologist with deep expertise in multiple emerging technology domains, research leadership experience, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into viable commercial solutions. You'll work closely with academic institutions, industry partners, and our technical teams to push the boundaries of what's possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy: Define long-term technology roadmap and R&D priorities aligned with market opportunities
• Research Leadership: Lead internal research initiatives in quantum algorithms, generative AI, BCI, and other emerging fields
• Talent Acquisition: Recruit and build world-class technical teams across specialized domains
• Technical Architecture: Establish technical standards, platform choices, and development methodologies
• Innovation Pipeline: Identify and evaluate emerging technologies for commercial viability and strategic fit
• Academic Partnerships: Forge research collaborations with universities and national laboratories
• Technical Due Diligence: Assess feasibility and requirements for complex client projects
• IP Strategy: Manage intellectual property development, patents, and trade secrets
• Thought Leadership: Represent Anonano at technical conferences, publish research, and build industry presence

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field from top-tier institution
• 15+ years of technical experience with 5+ years in research leadership roles
• Proven track record of technical innovation with patents, publications, or open-source contributions
• Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, AI/ML, cybersecurity, or neurotechnology
• Experience leading teams of 20+ technical professionals
• Track record of building technical organizations from early stage to maturity
• Strong network in academic and industry research communities
• Experience commercializing research and managing client-facing technical projects
