3D Geospatial Visualization Engineer

Position Overview

Create and manage high-fidelity 2D and 3D geospatial data visualizations with focus on rendering performance. Build immersive 3D terrain models, city models, and interactive globe applications for urban planning, environmental monitoring, and defense applications.

This role requires expertise in 3D graphics, WebGL, and geospatial technologies to create performant visualizations that handle massive datasets.

Key Responsibilities

• Build 3D terrain visualizations from elevation data (LiDAR, DEM)
• Develop interactive 3D city models and building visualizations
• Implement WebGL-based geospatial rendering engines
• Optimize performance for large-scale 3D datasets
• Create photorealistic terrain rendering with textures and shading
• Develop time-series visualizations and animations
• Implement level-of-detail (LOD) systems for efficient rendering
• Work with 3D tiles (3D Tiles, I3S) and streaming formats
• Integrate real-time data streams into 3D visualizations
• Create VR/AR geospatial experiences

Qualifications

• 5+ years of 3D visualization experience
• Strong knowledge of WebGL and 3D graphics programming
• Experience with geospatial data and GIS technologies
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and shader programming
• Understanding of 3D mathematics and computer graphics
• Experience with Cesium, Three.js, or similar frameworks
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, GIS, or related field
• Portfolio demonstrating 3D visualization projects
